July 2021 Brunch

For July, we read Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain Anthony Bourdain's Scrambled Eggs Ingredients 1/2 cup sliced bacon (about 2 slices of thick-cut) 4 eggs, whisked 1/8 tsp. sea salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 2 Tbsp. chopped chives 2 Tbsp. sour cream Directions Heat a medium or large pan (nonstick if you have it) over medium-high heat. Add bacon to pan and cook, stirring frequently, until bacon is crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Lower heat and spoon out some of the bacon fat, keeping bacon in the pan. Add eggs to pan, stirring constantly, and when set, remove from heat. June 2021 Brunch

In honor of PRIDE month in June, we read The Guncle by Steven Rowley! Palm Springs Brunch (Fresh Fruit with Ricotta Honey Dip) Ingredients 1 pint part-skim ricotta 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 tablespoon honey 2 ripe peaches, quartered 4 pineapple slices 4 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice   Directions Combine peaches, sugar, lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook, gently stirring occasionally, until fruit is just tender, 5 to 10 minutes, depending on ripeness. October 2020 Brunch Mennu

In celebration of the spooky season and Victober (Victorian Reading Month), we read The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde! In honor of this month's book and all things "proper," we are going all out with our recipes and serving a real English afternoon tea! Our menu includes three courses of treats along with some boozy tea. Of course, feel free to pick and choose what you want to make, or treat yourself and make it all!
